Retro Rockits is a 5-piece band based out of Cedar Rapids that plays all of the biggest “radio hits” from the 60s, 70s and 80s. We guarantee that you’ll be able to “name that tune” in just 3 notes, and bring your dancing shoes! Retro Rockits is:

Nikki comes from a musical family and has been singing since she was a little girl. She has sung in choirs, bands and churches, and has one solo CD project, and 2 CD projects with siblings who also sing. Over the years, she has been a part of several CR area bands including Upstage, KantiRocks, SaLOONatics, Nikki D & Friends, Party of 2, and One for the Ditch. You may have also seen her perform the National Anthem at various venues in both Cedar Rapids and Louisville, KY. When she isn’t singing on stage, you may find her serenading the birds when she rides her bike.
Keith is the band’s southern transplant by way of Florida and Georgia. In his almost 3 decades spent in the Atlanta area, he played with numerous bands including Copper, Drawing Lines, Roadside Sofa, Two Sixes, Catfish Johnson, Homefries, and The Shetlands. He originally played acoustic 6 string and keyboards before making the switch to bass guitar. Keith plays Fender and Ibanez basses and uses Eden bass preamps, Carvin power amps, and David Eden and Carvin cabinets. He was a bandmate of Rockits drummer Doug Allemang in the group Vintage.
Doug grew up playing old school soul and R&B. Over the years he has played in numerous classic rock bands. With Retro Rockits, he is really enjoying getting back to classic rock’s musical roots and providing the rhythmic foundation for the great classic rock songs that will definitely stand the test of time
Ken grew up in a musical family in Cedar Rapids and has 5 decades of experience playing in a variety of bands including The Steamboat Willie Band, The Hardtimes, Three Musicians and a Drummer, and Mount Rockmore. Musical genres include southern rock, blues, country, country rock. Fun Fact: Ken and Doug both started their musical careers at McKinley Jr. High in Miss Emily Sweet’s band/orchestra class. A musical career that has spanned 6 decades, Ross has played in both civilian bands in the United States and military bands abroad. Local bands have included SkyHook, The Trux, Jack and The Rippers, Randomonium, Quarter Past 5, and Hits and Misses. Stationed aboard Navy ships, including the USS Simon Lake, USS Saratoga, The USS Nimitz and the USS Constellation, he played with Black Rose, The Limit, Fit 'N Hit and several others. He is happy and proud to be playing keyboards with fellow band mates in Retro Rockits!
